ESTHER DAVIS, Nurse-Midwife
 Esther Davis's medical career began when she received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Southwest Technical College. She worked in the Obstetrical Department of South Baldwin Hospital in Foley, AL for three years before returning to school at Pensacola Junior College, where she received an Associate of Science degree, and became a Registered Nurse.
Davis subsequently returned to the South Baldwin Hospital Obstetrical Department, was promoted to nurse manager, and taught childbirth education classes for six years. It was during this period that Davis attended classes at the University of South Alabama, completing a B.S. degree in nursing.
Davis then continued her education at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, and completed her Masters Degree in Nursing. Going even further with her education, Davis earned a Midwifery Degree at the Frontier School of Nurse-Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hydew, KY.
Today, Esther Davis offers her services at South Baldwin Obstetrics and Gynecology, delivering babies at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, and managing patients with Drs. Dennis McNally and Nicole Brooks.
MIDWIFERY
Caregiving by a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) includes preconception counseling, care during pregnancy and childbirth, gynecological services, and care of the peri- and post-menopausal woman.
Some of the more specific services include: Pap smears; breast and pelvic examinations; general wellness counseling; the prescribing of oral contraceptives, IUDs, diaphragms, and cervical cap fittings; screening and treatment of vaginal and urinary tract infections, and sexually transmitted diseases; and prenatal care.
